Mickey Wynne's Background

Mickey played in a band at school when he taught Julian Lennon guitar. He then played and jammed lots with with several bands whilst at college in Newcastle, England. After leaving college he joined a band called Posh Monkeys and he made his first record with them which got to Number 1 in the local charts. When the band split, Mickey joined with Posh Minkeys lead singer and writer Denis Tweedy to form a songwriting group called Best Cartoons. They survived together long enough to make a record of their own songs, which has recently been remixed and remastered. He then moved down to London and taught guitar whilst getting known in the London session circuit. During this time Mickey taught Mark Dean at MCA Records and got signed to a development deal which then took him to New York, working as a writer for MCA over there. After leaving New York Mickey returned to work back in London at Abbey road studios for six months on the Wiseguys album project. Following a move to Brighton on Englands south coast, Mickey formed his own production company Harmonia with actor and musician Patrick Bergin. During this development Mickey taught guitar to Anthony Rothschild of A7 Music Publishers and occasionally a few other private clients. Mickey also became a part time lecturer at what was then BIMM – Brighton Institute of Modern Music . (Now the British Institute of Modern Music). There he taught a range of music subjects from songwriting to guitar session styles to music theory. In 2016 Mickey released his first solo album MICK I as The World of Mick. And in autumn 2022 he released MICK II which has since been receiving BBC National Radio play and radio play in other countries.
