This picture was taken as part of my debut album artwork shoot by Ollie Weiat (@oliverweait on Instagram.)

Ollie, a good friend as well as a top photographer, was the former art director at Sony Music , working there with the likes of Terence Trent Darby (now the artist known as Sananda Maitreya), The Clash  as well working with other labels.

Having heard the tracks for my album, this evocative shot was chosen by Ollie for the American deep south feel. The feel of blues music being played on ‘the porch’, the seating area outside the house, where a lot of great music gets written, jammed and played. Sometimes along with a bottle of Jack or Southern Comfort. I have been blessed to play in some of those porches when I was working in Nashville, Tennessee. The porch of the  late songwriter Toby Lees was one such.

For budgetary reasons the porch for this shoot chosen by Ollie was in Dungeness Kent, Southeast England rather than Tennessee.
